I love thrifting. I really honestly do.
I love the process of combing through racks and racks of musty clothes. I love being surprised by finding something amazing. I love the fact that you can find things you can't find in normal stores. And that you'll never be in the position of wearing the same thing as somebody else (commonly known as, I bought this shirt at Forever 21 the other day...)
And more than all of that, I love getting hauls of clothing without making my wallet sob sad little wallet tears.

However.. there are just some things I cannot thrift. No matter how many starved wallet tears are cried, I just can't.
Things such as lingerie, hosiery, swimwear, coats and, in this specific case, shoes... I just can't.
Getting these things secondhand don't register in my comfort zone.
These are usually the things I have to turn to actual malls and stores for (and the things that make my wallet silently whisper curse words to me at night).

Anyways, I promise all this rambling is leading somewhere.
So I was sitting in class today, totally completely engrossed in completing my essay, when I suddenly landed upon Zara's online store... How did that happen?!
Needless to say, I ended up using the rest of my period going through shoes...
(I'm weak.. very very weak.)

So here is a post basically explaining why although I don't really NEED a summer job... I NEED a summer job.
Shoes that I'm fairly infatuated with. My favourite are the glass heels I posted at the top. They're gorgeoouusss. Ensue drooling.

I also saw this jacket at Zara the other day. OH RIGHT, that's why I was on the website. I fell in love with it immediately. It's the leather sleeves, definitely the leather sleeves.
But winter's done and it'll be summer soon so I don't see a point in getting a coat.... Sob.

This jacket was pretty cute too. But definitely no need for it now.

I've also been thinking about clothes I want to make for the summer (several skirts, tank tops, bustier crop tops, etc) but I already have a million things I still need to finish tailoring.
I think more than shoes right now, I really want a sewing machine. It's such a hassle going to school for all of my sewing needs. It's inconvenient and time consuming.

So I'm pretty sure the moral of this story (post) is that I really need to start summer job hunting RIGHT now.

White Sleeveless Blouse - Thrifted  / Flower Print Skirt - Thrifted / Black Bag - Thrifted / Black Lace-up Boots - Spring

So I haven't blogged in the longest time ever (also known as 'a month').
I honestly have such a legitimate excuse (not really).
To be honest, I actually have nothing to say for myself except that I've been drowning in school work (in my case, this is commonly referred to as 'being a graphic design slave for your school') and between that and keeping up with friends (also known as 'being in a relationship kills all of your time') and trying to get adequate amounts of sleep (hahaha... what's sleep?), all my time has just quietly slid down the drain.
I actually still have folders stacked with images for several of posts I was supposed to do.. but sometimes it's like.. should I post or should I SLEEP?
... and honestly.. sleep is such a beautiful thing these days..
Sowwy neglected blog, so many apologies.
I finally got out of my anti-blogging funk this week when my friend Joyce came over so we could do a shoot together. We both blog, both lack photographer boyfriends (so sads, but other than that, our boyfriends kinda rock so I guess it's okay), and both hate doing shoots with our tripods (it actually sucks).
We decided to do two outfits (we can't shoot together that often, so why not kill more birds with one stone?) with a theme attached. I decided I wanted to show off two floral print skirts I thrifted a few weeks ago in celebration of spring (yay warm weather yay!).

(sh, I'm cheesy and I know it)

Sorry to anyone who was following me before.. and thanks for sticking with me. <3
Alsoo sorry for the blogs I usually keep up with. I'll be keeping up with them again soon. Also apologies to people who've tagged me in previous posts to do things.. I just can't at the moment. :(
I love you all.

On a last note, here's a cute picture of me and Joyce changing between outfits. Check her out at The Doll In Rouge.

Final last note. My latest music obsession.
"am I an honest man and true? have I been good to you at all? Oh, I'm so tired of playing these games..."

Beautiful lyrics...
Goodnight and have a good week everybody.

I know, I haven't blogged properly in the longest time and I come back with possibly one of my boring-est and safest outfits yet. Have I lost all hope of creative and unique quality? Am I becoming a bland and unappealing person? Will I begin to conform to society's standards of skinny jeans and american apparel hoodies and birkenstock sandles?
Oh God, I hope not.

Blue Button-Up Shirt - Thrifted
High Waisted Shorts - Aritzia
Black Lace-Up Boots - Spring

It's been a bittersweet week. The first few days were just terrible. It's been a mess of trying to figure out my future and, for a lack of less melodramatic words, "who I am". As well as dealing with a lot of people (friends..people.. augh.. feelings.. relationships.. cry cry cry) and "drama"(ensue crying).
This second part is really strange on my behalf because I don't usually involve myself so much with people. Not as in I'm antisocial (or so I would hope) but more and more these days I just try to stay neutral and out of things.

Nevertheless, my efforts have clearly gone to hell because people insist on getting involved with each other in the most idiotic of ways and overall just transforming me into the equivalent of a Mother dealing with a son who smokes crack or a teenage daughter who leaves condom wrappers on the car floor..... I don't even know what I'm trying to say anymore but it's THAT FRUSTRATING.

If this ever blows over and goes away I think I'm just going to crawl into a hole and hibernate away from people forever... good plan?

This being said.. things seem to be on the road to getting better but yeah.. it seems like a ritual for me to complain in my blog now. Don't you just love the smell of teenage angst?
Haha, I know. Sorry guys. I didn't mean to harass you with this painfully awkward and dramatic mass of pointless text! Please forgive me.

Anyways... reasons for rejoicement- we had the most incredible weather in Toronto today. Also I have almost fully recovered from a month long sickness... Hurrah! I celebrated by doing my first outdoor shoot without running inside every two minutes for a 'warm-up break'.

Honestly... these shoots are actually so tiring. I love taking pictures, but this is not photography. This is setting-up-tripod-10-test-shots-run-back-and-forth-between-camera-to-adjust-tripod-and-set-timer.
I think I'm gonna try to trick my boyfriend into being my photographer? I dunno.. hope he doesn't read this haha.
Especially with the weather getting warmer it'd be so nice to get out there and have a change of scenery every once in a while. I love being a one-woman show.. but at the same time, I don't like being a one-woman show? (Make up your mind, woman!) Or maybe just not with shooting.. it's so counterproductive.

Any Toronto fashion bloggers out there wanna come here and we can like shoot for each other? That'd be so nice.

Brown Button Up - Thrifted
Necklace - Ardenes
Floral Skirt - Thrifted
Heeled Oxfords - Locale

Canada winter is sort of coming to an end... and it's choosing to hit us with a bitter vengeance. It's been cold and rainy and snowy and slushy and every possible kind of miserable weather for us.
I did this shoot in rebellion against the snow and sad gloomy weather last week and I tried to dress like it was spring.

I've been sick for approximately three weeks now... It gets a bit better and then a bit worse and it just keeps going and going. It's almost gone now though.. thank God. I can't blame anyone else but myself though... I should really stop doing shoots outside while I'm sick.

I spent this entire week prepping for a graphic design competition and had my competition on Friday. So basically I haven't had a life for a while... but now it's time to catch up on blogging. :)

Lots on my mind right now... question for anybody who may be reading this blog... when is your good, good enough?
Sometimes trying your hardest doesn't work out, sometimes you don't even know how to try, but you just try to go at it. You look at your own imperfection and inadequacy in disgust and you wonder.
You try harder but it's still not enough. Nobody sees you for what you accomplish.. they don't see you for what you have done or can do, but they see you for how you've messed up or failed or how you're lacking.
What's good enough?

Haha, depressing ending to this post but yeah... Hope spring is coming soon for all of you guys. So much cute clothing suited for warmer weathers. :)
