long black tank top - 3f fashions
gold silk dress shirt - vintage
shoes - mom's closet
jewellery - ardene, swarovski, charlotte russe, aldo

this post is actually so overdue considering that i shot this outfit a week ago , but since then school has essentially swallowed me up whole .
so when i did get some free time i usually spent it indulging in sleep and curling up in a ball while whispering to myself, 'it's okay, it's okay. it's all going to be okay, it'll be over very very soon'. which it won't because university applications aren't for another several months which means until then i will be a complex ticking bomb built of nerves and bad feelings and moodyness . PROBABLY.

also, returning to school means returning to uniform so it's not like i was motivated to do a post every other day for an outfit i did not actually wear .
anyways, this is one of my favorite safe outfits (i feel like i say that about all my safe outfits?) but i find it's better for more formal outings, like dates and such. i love going to neutral colors for safe outfits .

near the beginning of school i was kinda sad for a few days and i don't usually turn to shopping therapy (i'm not an impulse buyer kind of person) but i took a trip to pmall and i got all lured in by cheap stuff and feeling upset .
i know summer's coming to an end, but i ended up picking up this dress and these shoes. in total i only spent $25 CAD so it felt worth it even though i probably won't really reap these benefits till 10 months from now.

anyways , i really wanted to say thanks to all the new and old followers for following & sticking with me through my ramblings and whatnot . and thank you for all the lovely comments, especially regarding my illustrations (they make me happy (': )
i've been kind of busy lately so i haven't replied to any comments or visited many blogs but i will do that once i settle into school a bit .

hope you're all having a great week !

silk floral kimono - banana republic (thrifted)
black bustier top - thrifted
brown button-up skirt - forever 21
oxfords - locale
jewellery - american eagle, aldo, swarovski

summer's come to an end and i'm back to school now, which means... i don't really know what it means.
it's my last of highschool and i really don't know what to expect, but i know this year will be filled with hard work, inspiration and lots of discovery . and hopefully lots of blogging as well .
also, although i have mixed feelings about returning to school (and normal life), i'm rather excited for fall fashion because i get to layer (and swallow myself up in big baggy sweaters). i'm going to be going thrifting with my blogging pal joyce this weekend and i'm hoping to find some nice cheap stuff for the upcoming season . :)

a quick and slightly messy illustration, there's a couple of things that make me iffy about it but i wanted to get this post up by tonight . if there's one thing that fashion illustration is helping me with , is efficiency . and hopefully consistency , i really want to keep this up .

and since somebody asked in the comments before (but i can't find this comment anymore, sorry!) i used adobe photoshop to draw and color my illustrations (though if you don't have that i recommend open canvas which i find even better, but it doesn't run on macs) . :)

hope you're all having a end to summer and beginning to school !

favorite white blouse - hanna g
wine colored skinny jeans - zco jeans
black bag - thrifted
black heeled lace up boots - spring
jewellery - charlotte russe, ardenes, swarovski & mom's closet

today i went to a going away party for one of my friends, who is moving to africa (i know.. wow, man, wow) . i wanted to pull out a safe outfit because i didn't have a lot of time to get ready so i pulled out my favorite white blouse . you know those pieces of clothing that just make you feel safe ? like something that makes you think, "i could wear this with probably anything and still feel good about myself". yeah, pretty much explains this blouse .

also canada has lovingly decided to grace us with random cold weather so i had to settle for long pants (but why canada? i want to enjoy the last days of my summer in short shorts and fluffy skirts..) which was, at the same time, a good thing because i've really been wanting to wear these wine colored jeans that i picked up a few weeks ago .

i got them for twenty dollars at winners, woo hoo! i love department stores so much , almost as much as the thrift store . it's funny because my friends always ask me how i can afford having so many clothes but the truth is i just know where to look to get clothes for cheap . :)

i'm curious, where do you guys get your clothes from ? being on blogger and lookbook always makes me question where other people get their closets from and how they afford it . it'd be nice if we could all share tips and secrets, heyyy ;)

i almost gave up like six times while trying to draw an illustration but pulled through and i'm actually pretty proud of this one :')

have a great week guys , xx

acid wash denim playsuit - wawa boutique
black skirt - h&m
black lace underskirt - mom's closet
black lace up boots - spring

i'm completely obsessed with this denim playsuit (which i wore as a top) that i got with my mom a few weeks back . i'm in love with the lace cutout and the bead detailing, its perfect except it's a little bit small on me (dang you asian store one size fit all). since the acid wash denim was a bit heavy and grungy i tried to balance it out with something more delicate, a thin black skirt with a lace underskirt underneath.

today i had one of the most productive days of my entire summer. i managed to finish an image for my commissions, shoot an ootd, do an illustration for that ootd and bleach/ombre a pair of shorts and IT WAS AWESOME.
after that i decided i wanted to do some more so i finally got around to redesigning my blogger layout (woo hoo), which was kind of painful but also rewarding because while it was really confusing it was also nice to see how everything turned out. now i just have to put in some custom banners tomorrow or the day after. :)

i'm behind on some posts here because i've been pretty busy and a little bit lazy but i've been pretty active on my daily tumblr and on my lookbook where i post rather frequently (ootd's as well as daily inspirations and creations).

i'm also trying to do illustrations for all of my ootd's which will be really really hard to do but i think it'll be really beneficial and will help improve my skills. sooo challenge accepted.. kind of. :)

my ombre diy on a pair of old shorts, which i'll be wearing in an outfit soon :)

more posts coming soon ! <3

I did this shoot a while back with my mom, but was always too busy to edit the pictures. Now that I look back, there were a couple of really nice shots! Hope to do more shots like this in the future :)

I'm also introducing my mom on the blog, isn't she cute? :D It was her birthday yesterday so afterwards I decided to finally take the initiative and finish editing pictures from the shoot. I wish I had pictures from her birthday celebration too but I didn't bring my camera... :(

Too things I should always bring with me, that I always choose not too because they're too heavy or I'm too lazy: my camera and my sketchbook.
I really want to get a new big bag so I can like effectively carry them all around but I don't know if that'll cure my laziness.... Hum. :(

pleated midi skirt - thrifted
bag - thrifted
platform sandals - bass

I haven't really felt like blogging recently, I don't know why. I just feel really out of it and tired all the time. :( I also have a big job to work on right now so I might not be around blogger too much for the next week or two.

I'll still be around on lookbook and tumblr though! :)

Today I went downtown for a lunch meeting with the organizing committee for a project I'm working on. We went to this place called Big Daddy's in hopes of getting to try alligator meat, but sadly it's not alligator season... so we had to settle. But their food was good and the conversation was good so it was still good even without the alligator meat.

Afterwards I roamed around downtown with a couple of friends and my boyfriend. My boyfriend decided to try taking reign of the camera (yes!! finally mwahaha ) and so the pictures today are credited to him.

One of the most fascinating finds of my day. The PETA condom mascot. The campaign is actually for animal neutering, but it was smart how they got condom costumes to attract more attention.
Ack, is it weird that I find a giant pink condom to be so cute?
Mhmm....

White Sheer Blouse - Urban Outfitters
Polka Dot Shorts - Thrifted
Boat Shoes - Bass
Bag - Aldo

The white sheer blouse was a gift from my boyfriend from a few months back and I've been keeping it in my closet because sometimes I'm too scared to wear the things he buys me, even though I love what he buys me (what if I ruin it? does he realize how clumsy I am?).
I also just finished cutting and hemming a pair of thrifted capris into the shorts I'm wearing here. I should really do more DIY's.

Anyways, I would write more but I must pack because I am going to OHIO tomorrow morninggg... why do I procrastinate so much I'm going to regret this so much in the morning.

See you in a week blog & bloggers!
Love you all <3

Last week I spent a day downtown with Joyce and it was like the most insane day of life.

Joyce is probably the only person I know in real life who blogs. She's also one of the few who thrift. So very naturally our day revolved around snapping pictures for our blogs and thrifting.
To get the full thrifting experience, Joyce tracked down three salvation armies (yes, three) downtown and convinced me to go on this big thrifting adventure with her.

It was a very chaotic adventure... you'd be surprised what kind of trouble two teenage girls could run into just visiting thrift stores.

It was also very exhausting. We ran from thrift store to thrift store and from store racks to crammed change rooms. Luckily we thought ahead and both opted for flat shoes. Heels and adventure do not mix.

Sheer White Top - Thrifted
Feather Necklace - Aldo
High Waisted Denim Shorts - Thrifted
Boat Shoes - Bass

It was a mild day with overcast skies and lots of warm wind, which is probably my favorite type of weather. I wanted to wear something light and comfortable so I settled for a loose top and comfy drawstring denim shorts. I also decided to keep accessories to a minimum and ditched my usual heels for some very needed foot comfort.

Despite talking with my mom and boyfriend about bringing my thrifted clothing down to a minimum I still find myself wearing fully thrifted outfits. (except for shoes, I think I have intimacy issues. I can't stick my feet somewhere someone else stuck their feet. what if they walked around all day in them? in the sun? while their feet perspired? a lot? what if they had a foot disease? Oh God...)

And seeing as how I've just visited three salvation armies I doubt I'll be giving up thrifting anytime soon... It's impossible I tell you, impossible!

I have a couple of new hauls to show off though I'm not sure if I will photograph them (too much... too much...). Though my goal right now is definitely to post more, even if my posts aren't that lengthy. (do people really read content? or do they just look at pictures? mhm.. the mysteries of life)
So many things to do, so little time.
